Dear EUROPE DIRECT managers,

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you at the General Meeting of EUROPE DIRECT managers in Milan, 30 May – 1 June 2022 !!

As you know, under the current generation this will be the only occasion to meet all of you in person. For us it is therefore essential that you can benefit of this General Meeting as much as possible in terms of engagement, exchange and participation.

While we will of course strive to provide you with first-hand information on current EU hot topics (including some re-focus due to the exceptional situation we are all living in), the main objective of the meeting is to let you come up with your successes and difficulties in communicating Europe in these exceptional times. This will allow the Commission Representations and Headquarters to learn about your work and guide you for the duration of this generation.

Crisis communication is challenging for all, and to some extent this is what we are all in. We are confident, however, that the partnership between the Commission and your Host Structures will allow the most flexible use of your Annual Communication Plans while complying with your capacity and the relevant contractual constraints.

With this in mind, we organised most of the sessions in the programme based on a bottom-up approach, and you will have plenty of time to network with other EUROPE DIRECT managers not only during the breaks and lunches but also during the welcoming dinner and the traditional exhibition of EUROPE DIRECT centres.

No need to say that this is also a precious occasion for you to exchange with fellow centres beyond your national group. In this respect, you will have the opportunity to find a EUROPE DIRECT centre(s) willing to cooperate with you on a common transnational project via the ‘find your match’ part of the website.
